The vets and the staff at Mylonas & O’Callaghan Veterinary Hospital want you to be confident and comfortable in the knowledge that your beloved pet is in the safe and caring hands of experienced and expert professionals.
All of the vets have trained in Australia and like all registered veterinary surgeons are required to maintain their knowledge and standards by attending courses on a regular basis. But what we offer as well is the experience of 20-30 years in practice by all of the vets attending your pet. You are welcome to request the vet of your choice at our hospital because we understand that you and your pet will sometimes prefer one vet ahead of the other vets. On those occasions when you may require specialist care we can refer you to the best practitioner in any field.
We are open for consultations 7 days a week and on most public holidays.
We very much welcome walk-in consultations, however, you may make an appiontment in consultation hours by calling the reception on 9622 3626. Please ring to make an appointment for surgical procedures and house calls.
We are happy to accept appointments outside of general consultation periods for long consultations (such as multiple vaccinations & micro-chipping) and for sensitive times (such as euthanasia) when surgical procedures are complete and time permits. When necessary, our experienced vets will help guide our clients to make the painful decision about the most appropriate time to consider euthanasia (put to sleep) for their beloved pet in the most sensitive and gentlest way. At this hospital we don’t believe in prolonging pain and suffering.
After hours consultations & emergencies are performed on a limited basis in-house by contacting one of our vets on 0409 026 629 and at other times we refer clients to the Animal Referral Hospital at 19 Old Northern Road Baulkham Hills (ph: 9639 7744) where they are fully equipped and staffed to handle all emergencies.
An advantage of having only experienced veterinary surgeons is that we are able to offer a range of treatment options and cost alternatives for most procedures.
We understand that you want the best treatment and best possible outcomes for your beloved pet and we understand that cost is a factor to be considered. We welcome enquiries about fees & charges and we will give quotes and estimates on request. We don’t have an account or credit system however, we do offer EFTPOS or Mastercard or Visacard facilities and we refer clients to take advantage of VetPay finanical services.
We believe that quality care is more than having a nice façade in the reception area and up-to-date equipment (which we do) and that is why our hospital is fully air conditioned and we have 3 separate wards with individual air conditioning in each ward. Our hospital runs and hospital walls are lined to keep the animal care areas clean and hygienic. We are so confident that you will appreciate the higher standard of care we offer that we welcome your inspection and ask you to compare the difference before you entrust your pet to our care.
Importantly, we want you to know that we have been successfully treating the pets of Blacktown and surrounding districts for over 37 years and competence, reliability and good outcomes from quality care is not just hype but a way of life at Mylonas, Mylonas & O’Callaghan Veterinary Hospital.
